Children Should Decide Their Own Future.

I Want To Be...

Wouldn't you agree that we should be able to decide our future for ourselves? It is my senior year in high school and this thought just crossed my mind. Many students complain about how their parents are choosing their futures for them. Luckily for me, the field my father wants me to go into is what I would enjoy doing, being a computer engineer. Yet not many kids are fortunate enough to have the same path. For example, my sister was supposed to be a nursing major because my father had planted it into her mind that it was a great career path. Only a year later did she realize that nursing just wasn't her thing, environmental science seemed to be. I am just ranting on because I have experienced what some kids will have to go through and have gone through. Many adults can agree that in life, to be ultimately happy is to love what you do. Being forced down a career path and living miserably is not a healthy choice. If a student could just negotiate and settle with their parents, they could save their future and become the person they are meant to be.

Let's Play Pretend.
