Cut Yourself Open
& bleed yourself out. To make your art unique, is to basically jump off of a high cliff and watch as your body splatters across a piece of paper, the result: Art. The whole splattering part has nothing to do with it, it's the guts to do something bold and daring that has the greatest effect on what you can do. Art can be related to life, you won't get anywhere if you don't try new things and be courageous. If you have any favorite colors and/or techniques, use them to your advantage. Your artwork expresses who you are so use the elements that symbolize you. I use lots of rustic browns and leafy greens in my artwork because I believe that they are beautiful colors, I just simply can not get enough of them. Think outside of the box and use materials or tools that no one else would think to use, this could result in something unthought of yet beneficial! Last but not least, I believe that all artwork should have some sort of texture, whether it be a wrinkled paper effect or the coarse surface of dried modeling paste. Texture gives a piece of art a new sense of dimension and adds to the complexity.
Remember:
1. You won't get anywhere if you don't try new things and be courageous.
2. Your artwork expresses who you are so use the elements that symbolize you.
3. Think outside of the box and use materials or tools that no one else would think to use.
4. All artwork should have some sort of texture.
Let's Play Pretend.
